Types of Attraction Flowchart.png
What the Heck Type of Love is This???

In the early 2000s, the asexual and aromantic (a-spec) community created a framework to talk about their experiences with love and attraction more accurately.

Currently, this framework names roughly five basic types of attraction: platonic, romantic, sexual, aesthetic and sensual.

However, even with definitions, it can be hard to concretely understand each type. This flowchart was designed to give someone a list of litmus questions to figure out what they're feeling.

Now What

I designed two-thirds of the Fall 2021 print edition of Klipsun Magazine,

including the cover.

I also designed the header and logo for social media for that time period as well as doing the page layout for all stories posted online under "Now What" Fall 2021.

A man looking down at a plate of grapes is mirrored. On the left, the man is clear and the grapes are good to eat. On the right, the man is cloudy and the grapes are shrivelled and rotten.
A scrap of paper with "Episode 1: Facing Down Climate Grief" and a play button. Behind the paper is a transparent woman with a forestfire in the background.
Reality and Ideation

A photo illustration showing the sort of disordered thinking people can have when struggling with an eating disorder and that not only young women and girls can have those struggles.

Facing It

A magazine spread for an article about the damage done to human brains by air pollution. Art on the page shows 9 shadowy human figures and 1 giraffe wearing old-fashioned clothing.
The second page of a magazine spread for an article about the damage done to human brains by air pollution. The first piece of art on the page shows a skull wearing a graduation cap with smoke coming out of it's eye socket and smokestacks in the background. The second piece of art shows a white man staring at tiny people huddled next to a cross-section of human skin. A third art piece shows a puppet show where one of the puppets is attacking the other with a knife.
The third page of a magazine spread for an article about the damage done to human brains by air pollution. The first piece of art on the page shows an artistic cross-section of a woman's brain with plants growing out of it. The second piece is a man's head but smokestacks are where his brain would be.
Page Designs and Posters

Page designs and posters. Some designed for classes, some designed for projects, some designed for clients.

In the upper corner is a polaroid photo of Spiderman in a torn and smoke-smudged uniform. In the lower, a polaroid photo of Sam Wilson, the Falcon, wearing a formal suit and looking gravely at the Captain America shield. Between the photos, strips of masking tape on a dark background highlight the text "Whump, A+ Parenting and Fantasy Racism: Trauma Narratives in Marvel Fanfiction. Presented by Sadie Fick, advised by Tracey Pysher. June 9 at 3:00 pm, Old Main 330C. For disability accommodations please email honors@wwu.edu."
A poster presenting the article "Love is a Many-Splendored Thing: a celebration fo the diverse spectrum of love." Visuals on the poster include a flowchart breaking down the different types of love.
A page layout for several articles about musical groups. Photos on the page show a person with their arms outspread and wearing a gas mask, gloves and all-black top. A second photo shows the whole band made up of 4 members. The final photo is the head and shoulders of a woman dancing.
A poster to present about the Now What edition of Klipsun magazine. Visuals include a banner, the social media logo, and cover of the magazine, all of which feature red, gold and white glittering art.
